Aromatherapy massage is Swedish massage therapy using massage oil or lotion that contains pure essential oils (highly concentrated plant oils). During an aromatherapy massage, you inhale these essential oil molecules or absorb them through your skin. Essential oils are the fragrant, highly concentrated natural constituents that are found in various parts of plants such as leaves, berries, grasses, flowering tops, petals, roots, zest of fruit, resins and wood. Essential oils possess natural healing properties without harmful side-effects. When used correctly essential oils have a broad range of health benefits and can be used for a wide range of conditions. A variety of relaxing massage strokes are used to warm your muscles, release tension, loosen tight muscular fibres and increase circulation to your whole body.
These are just a few of my favourite essential oils:
Geranium – reduces inflammation, alleviate anxiety and balance hormones. This sweet-smelling oil can also uplift your mood, lessen fatigue and promote emotional wellness.
Frankincense – increase blood flow and circulation. Reduces inflammation and skin imperfections. Promotes feelings of wellness and relaxation.
Sweet Orange – relaxes muscular and nervous spasms. A natural sedative that helps you to relax. It can help alleviate anxiety, anger, depression and certain inflammation.
I only use Cruelty Free, Paraben Free, Vegan Friendly, 100% natural carrier and pure essential aromatherapy oils within my massage treatments.
